In-House Substitute Teacher/Classroom Support- FT (CT Campus)
Winston Preparatory School is seeking candidates that are flexible, organized, and have strong communication and computer technology skills to fill the full-time position of In-House Substitute Teacher/Classroom Support at the Norwalk, CT campus. This position is for the current school year (2026-2027).
The role of In House Sub/Building Support requires one to be:
Covering a class for teachers on leave for a prolonged period is a possibility. During lunchtime supervision, candidates should be comfortable taking students outdoors to play on the field and supervise informal game play.

Winston Preparatory School is a co-ed private day school for 3-12th-grade students with learning differences, including dyslexia, NVLD, expressive or receptive language disorders, and executive functioning difficulties (ADHD). The Connecticut campus is located in Norwalk, CT. Essential Tasks

Manage a changing daily schedule stepping in to oversee classrooms of diverse learners in grades 3rd-12th as a substitute teacher
Take attendance
Manage a classroom
Implement sub plans
Morning drop off supervision
Lunchtime supervision (candidates should be comfortable taking students outdoors to play on the field and supervise informal game play during lunchtime supervision)
Dismissal supervision
Covering a class for teachers on leave for a prolonged period is a possibility.
Perform related work as required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) required; Master’s degree (MA or MS) preferred
Candidates should have at least 2 years experience working with school-aged students
Experience organizing and leading recreational activities/sports activities for students considered a plus
Strong writing and verbal communication skills, effective classroom management, excellent organization, team-oriented, and a collaborative, flexible mindset
Must have competency with Google Classroom and technology

The salary range for this position is $42,000-48,000, commensurate with education and experience.
