Full Time Substitute Teacher - New Jersey Campus

Winston Preparatory School in Whippany, NJ is seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and experienced individual to serve as a Substitute Teacher. Winston Prep is a co-ed day school for 3rd through 12th grade students with learning differences such as dyslexia, nonverbal learning disabilities, expressive and receptive language disorders, and/or executive functioning problems. Our mission is to facilitate the independence of individuals with learning difficulties through assessment-driven individualized education, research and outreach.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-person coverage for academic classes, 1:1 Focus periods, lunch duties, and after school clubs as needed.
  • Deliver teacher-prepared lesson plans or adapt materials in real time to meet diverse learning profiles.
  • Maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and positive behavior. 
  • Communicate promptly with absent teachers or Leadership Team about lesson progress, student performance, and any concerns.
  • Contribute to a collaborative faculty culture by participating in professional development sessions and student-support meetings when coverage schedule permits.
Qualifications:

- Must have a B.A. in an education related field
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in the field of K-12 education
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage and engage students with diverse learning needs - Flexible, collaborative, and willing to work with faculty and staff to support student growth and learning
