Who We Are

Winston Transitions NYC is a highly-individualized program for young adults with learning disabilities.
What Are Your Goals For Your Child After High School?

In adulthood, you rarely talk about your test scores or grades. Why should schools place all their emphasis on academics?

If college is a goal for your child, do they have the tools they need to succeed in higher education? If the workforce is the goal for your child, do they have the tools they need to succeed in the workforce?

At Winston Transitions, we recognize the skills students need to lead fulfilling lives don’t always show up on report cards. Our aim is to provide students ages 17 to 21+ with the tools they need to achieve real-world success. That means helping them to build independence through active, genuine experiences.

  • How it Works

Winston Transitions provides an extension to the Winston Preparatory School educational experience. The process begins by precisely identifying and matching each student's needs. We deeply understand each student and individualize a program to help them achieve their goals.

Nothing is set in stone. We constantly amend and adjust each program as our students grow and gain new skills. Over time, each student becomes more independent and actively engaged in their own learning.

At the same time, we’re constantly working to build a powerful sense of community.

Do you feel your child would benefit from a gap year(s) program for ADHD students, NVLD students, or students with dyslexia? We want to meet you! Begin by attending an open house, or speak to an admissions expert.
  • Skills that Matter

This transition program for students with dyslexia, nonverbal learning disabilities, and ADHD builds skills such as:
    • Independence
    • Resilience
    • Responsibility
    • Self-awareness
    • Self-advocacy
When students leave our program, they feel prepared and empowered to begin college life or work experiences.

  • From Our Head of School Jeremy Antar

"What if my child needs more time before taking the next step in life?" is a question Winston Prep leaders are asked time and time again. While the majority of Winston Prep students graduate and go on to post-secondary education, there is a group of students who need more time.
