Winston Preparatory School Long Island (WPSLI) opened its doors in the Fall of 2018. We are excited to bring the essence of Winston — the expertise and methods that have been successfully applied to reach eight times the number of lives it did just two decades ago — to the Long Island community.
The campus is located at 30 Deforest Road, Dix Hills, New York. A talented, committed and diverse faculty has been assembled and promises to fulfill the individualized standards of the WPS philosophy. The beautiful campus includes state-of-the-art classrooms, expansive fields and a full-size gym. Our students have been diagnosed with language processing disorders, nonverbal learning disabilities, dyslexia, ADHD, and may struggle with organizational, executive functioning, social pragmatic, expressive language or reading comprehension difficulties. Winston’s unique model of education for the individual provides personalized skill remediation, while encouraging students to build resilience, independence, self-awareness and self-advocacy. Vital components of our educational model include the one-to-one Focus program and small classes where students are grouped with similar learners. Our Continuous Feedback System, along with our ongoing diagnostic assessments of each and every student, provides a unique and responsive learning environment where each student can succeed.
