From Our Head of School Kristen Atkins

For over 40 years, Winston Preparatory School has helped students with diverse learning profiles, such as ADHD, dyslexia, and NVLD, become confident, independent learners in the classroom and beyond. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Winston Prep Marin County first opened its doors in 2020.
Our campus, located in San Rafael, accepts students on a rolling admissions basis, so your child can start thriving without delay.

When a school understands your child, challenges become opportunities- and learning comes to life. Winston Preparatory School offers students with unique learning profiles a highly effective model of education for the individual that includes small group classes and daily one on one instruction with a teacher who specializes in each student’s profile of strengths and challenges. A fundamental premise of our work is to help students “learn how to learn.”

By using a continuous feedback system and diagnostic assessments, Winston faculty can focus instruction on an individualized and authentic educational experience designed to produce self-advocating lifelong learners. The Executive Director of Winston Prep, Scott Bezsylko, describes the guiding principle as a highly responsive environment where capable students with learning differences are understood individually, cognitively, academically and socio-emotionally in order for the faculty to be able to create an educational environment that responds daily to their ever-changing needs.

I encourage you to take a moment to watch these films that capture the voices and lives of those living the gratifying educational experience at each Winston Preparatory School campus. I look forward to meeting you in the coming months on our beautiful campus in the heart of Marin County.
