Elementary Classroom and Focus Teacher - New Jersey Campus

Winston Preparatory School, a leading day school for students with learning differences, is seeking a full-time Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team at our Whippany, NJ campus. We serve students in grades 2 through 12 with learning differences such as dyslexia, nonverbal learning disorders, expressive/receptive language difficulties, and executive functioning disorders. Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic, compassionate, and innovative educator to help foster the academic and personal growth of our elementary students. In this role, you will deliver research-informed, differentiated instruction in a student-centered classroom. You’ll also play a key part in nurturing each student’s social-emotional development, while maintaining strong relationships with families and faculty. You’ll be part of a collaborative, driven and supportive Leadership Team that values both professional autonomy and teamwork. Our approach emphasizes whole-child development, with a focus on skill-building, reflection, and individualized success.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or special education (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a lead teacher in an elementary classroom
  • Strong commitment to collaboration, professional development, and ongoing learning
  • Solution-oriented mindset and flexibility in approach
  • Passion for working with students with learning differences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to receive feedback and grow within a close-knit team of professionals
  • Ability to think creatively and clinically to help each student reach meaningful goals
