San Francisco Bay Area

We are currently accepting applications for students through grade 12 for our Marin, California campus (1 Saint Vincents Drive, San Rafael, CA 94903). Over the last two decades Winston Preparatory School has continued to expand its reach in order to help more students in need, and replicate its model in order to make an impact on the field. We are thrilled to bring the essence of WPS—the expertise and methods that have been successfully applied to reach eight times the number of lives it did just two decades ago—to the West Coast. I am excited to announce that Winston Preparatory School has acquired a new San Francisco Bay Area site in central Marin County, California, and will begin classes in August 2020.

The new Marin campus is accepting applications for students through grade 12, and is in the early stages of planning a separate Transitions program for young adults 18-21 years old who are college capable but may benefit from additional growth in skills and confidence. Winston Preparatory School serves students with language processing disorders, non-verbal learning disabilities, ADHD, and executive functioning challenges, with a highly effective model of education for the individual that includes small group classes and daily one on one work with a teacher who specializes in each student’s profile of strengths and challenges. A fundamental premise of our work is to help students “learn how to learn.” By using a continuous feedback system and diagnostic assessments, Winston faculty can focus instruction on an individualized and authentic educational experience designed to produce self-advocating lifelong learners. The Executive Director of Winston Prep, Scott Bezsylko, describes the guiding principle as a highly responsive environment where capable students with learning differences are understood individually, cognitively, academically and socio-emotionally in order for the faculty to be able to create an educational environment that responds daily to their ever changing needs. I encourage you to take a moment to watch these three films that capture the voices and lives of those living the gratifying educational experience at each Winston Preparatory School campus. I look forward to meeting you in the coming months on our beautiful campus in the heart of Marin County.
